Side Note: The UofL game today is why my dad taught me never to leave a game until the clock reads 0:00. Go Cards!
I thought it would be helpful to blog my progress towards completing my first marathon....and beyond.

Week 3
Ran 9 miles this afternoon around Seneca Park and down Shelbyville Rd. The sun came out and it ended up to be a nice day. A tad windy, but nice. Tried out my new shoes for about 4 miles. I went with a smaller size. I wanted a lighter shoe, but I couldn't do that without sacrificing some cushioning. With me being bigger than the average marathoner, cushioning is real important in absorbing the shock to my feet and knees. So a half-size smaller makes it seem lighter. The shoe fits tighter to my foot. I like them so far...

Kentucky Derby Marathon 2011
I have started my training. I will be running my first marathon at the end of April. I am very excited and hope to blog about this process over the next few months.
So its been over a year since I've become a "runner" and I'm officially addicted. I have participated in two half-marathons in 2010 and feel I'm ready to move on to a full. My training so far has consisted of slow paced runs. With shorter runs throughout the week and a long run on Saturdays. This Saturday I will be running 9 miles. I will post after about how it went.
More to come...
